Arunoda Susiripala, long-time champion of Meteor is moving on...
Here's the anomaly. Arunoda also created Mantra, used by many people as a front-end framework. Mantra is back-end agnostic. That is, it is not tied to Meteor. Yet Arunoda has not yet shown up on the Mantra Talk forums to say what his plans are for the future of Mantra.
Dang, this is a big loss to the Meteor community. Though, I understand why Arunoda is leaving.
Similar to my comment in crater thread a month ago:
zeit.co is the new meteor. https://crater.io/posts/MsguXNNMAaAnXRH85/next-js
It looks very interesting. Although the biggest reason I stick with meteor is the accounts system - nothing else makes it that easy.
Agree, Meteor Accounts is a wonderful feature!
For a node.js alternative, check out http://passportjs.org/ for some examples of popular alternatives.
How? You're comparing apples to oranges.
Fair point, they are different.
Should have said zeit reminds me of a modern, thinner meteor. A good service for easy deploys from the front end (leverages react, and allows you to bring your own back end).

EDIT: Oh, Zeit also has a framework called Next. It's neat, too https://zeit.co/blog/next
Does this mean Kadira will no longer be maintained?
The url must be wrong, where is the link supposed to go?
